Are you craving the heat of spicy sambal chili with lip-smacking Ayam Penyet? If you live anywhere near Subanj Jaya's Sunway Pyramid, you can hit foodpanda or get the app on your phone and quickly place your order from Penyet Express at Sunway Subang Jaya. The restaurant's key focus is its signature dish, the ayam penyet. Of course, this juicy fried chicken preparation "squeezed" in a mortar and pestle to make it softer, is not an invention. "Penyet" is an Indonesian word meaning "squeezed", referring to the way in which the food in question is gently smashed between a mortar and pestle. The dish is one of the most popular foods to come out of Surabaya, East Java. Its popularity has spread across South East Asia, with Malaysians, Singaporeans and Indonesians alike having access to restaurants and Indonesian food chains that have their own unique way of serving penyet and other Indonesian dishes. At Penyet Express, the dish is served with fried tofu, tempe, fresh cabbage and spicy sambal belachan (a paste of chilies, shrimp paste and kalamansi lime) as it should be served. Along with it you get rice and a plain soup in the set meal.

Penyet Express delivery for Indonesian food lovers

The restaurant also offers a variety of other Indonesian foods including:

  • Penyets of beef, catfish, prawn, pomfret, ribs
  • Soups like bakso kuah and soto ayam
  • Combo meals with lots of proteins
  • Family sets, chicken and seafood
  • A la carte items, fried, grilled or smashed etc.
You can enjoy rice, prawn crackers, gado gado and a variety of hot and cold beverages with your meal. Penyet Express is very popular with Kuala Lumpur locals, families enjoy the affordable and delicious food and kids dig in heartily. Malaysian-Indonesians seeking flavors of home and comfort food and anyone else looking for a burst of flavors will enjoy the food offered by this restaurant.
