    Food is good. As always with Hakka Restaurant. It came in 30 mins when delivery was supposed to be 60 mins. And it was still piping hot. So, well done.
    Only downside, the delivery rider came with food in one hand, and a sleeping baby in the other. Rather unprofessional.

    客家咸鸭

    这里这道咸鸭是这里的招牌菜,而且还要提早预定,因为厨师先将鸭须以白酒,昭兴酒和盐腌制过才拿去蒸至肉软,所以鸭肉煮出来不会觉得太咸,而且酒味很淡,配饭一起吃刚刚好。

    咸菜炒猪肉碎

    这里这道菜是很开胃爽口,也是客家人最普通的一道菜,因为咸菜从以前到现在都是自家腌制的,而且都是用盐和糖腌制上十天才够味,而且加入了肉碎配饭一起吃,味道刚刚好,不会太咸。

    客家招牌梅菜扣肉

    在这里吃客家菜怎么能少了扣肉呢,这里的扣肉个个肥瘦均匀的扣肉,梅菜藏在肉底下,味道醇厚,肉质顺滑不硬,最重要是分量不多,刚刚好一口一块,残留在口中的香味却久久不散。

    客家芹菜小炒

    这里这道客家芹菜小炒,故名示意就是将芹菜和西芹加肉碎一起炒,外相虽然普通却足以让人吃得津津有味,还有家的味道,让人有点想家的感觉,这里的菜的确有一股浓浓的怀旧感。

    Salted fish pork belly

    Salted fish pork belly was served in a piping hot claypot. This dish was cooked with dried chilli, onions and salted fish. It was quite spicy as a lot of dried chilli was used. The pork belly slices have more fats than lean meat but it was sliced thinly so it was easier to eat. The gravy was slightly salty due to the salted fish, definitely has to eat with the rice.

    sweet and sour pork

    We ordered the traditional sweet and sour pork to try. It was served with pineapples, cucumber and tomatoes. The sweet and sour coating was not bad, both flavours were present. The pork was cut till too big pieces and the meat was slightly tough. The coating was not too crispy though. The gravy was not watery and not too dry, just nice. An average dish I could say.

    Kwai Fa Chee

    Kwai Fa Chee (simply translated to Shark Fin and crab meat omelette) is the signature dish of this restaurant. Indeed it did not disappoint. It was served with a few pieces of fresh lettuce for wrapping with the kwai fa chee. This dish consisted of mushroom, chicken pieces, spring onions, shark fin, sweet onions, egg and some parsley. The whole combination was not salty, in fact it was a little bit sweet. I love the amount of ingredients used in this dish.

    Siong Tong Yin Choy

    Just to fulfill the healthiness of dining, we ordered a green vegetable dish, “Siong Tong Yin Choy” (Spinach in superior soup). The soup was quite flavourful with a tint of garlic taste in it. It was not diluted and full of the spinach essence in it. It was not too salty. The spinach was soft and there were a few tiny anchovies to give some crispy texture to it. Not bad at all.

    Over Estimated Lunch..

    Having my luxury lunch with my colleague here during chinese new year..
    we had ordered the "lion head" with broccoli ...
    the "lion head" actually is meatball with alots of oyster...
    the "lion head " had fried before its served....so the meat juice can be store in it after fried ...
    when u bite on it...those juice were just spout out in your mouth...A bowl of shark fin soup then divided to each small portion for us ....
    There's no much sharkfin in it....I just a eat crabmeat and egg..abit disappointed about this...because its definitely no worth for the price ...

    Hakka Restaurant

    Only recently became conscious of Hakka food, but am lovin' it! Sliced pork belly stewed with preserved vegetables in black soy sauce (the unhealthiest dish possible, but it was soooo good) and wok-fried celery with shredded dried squid, bamboo shoots and pork strips (total comfort food). Deep fried Hakka yong tau foo with fish paste, minced meat, dried squid and salted fish (gobbled this up too fast and now I can't recall what it tasted like. Must have been all right though). Village chicken salted and steamed with rice wine (too salty, but tender).

    It's all about Hakka

    Specialized in Hakka dishes, must try is the Hakka noodle
    best part is that they can prepare the noodle in the original way or something different e.g. with gravy
    Also must try traditional hakka dish is the abascus (yam balls)
    but i find the ying ker lou ones better because they are not so chewy and the taste is just more outstanding.
    Another special is the kangkung in claypot but it's too spicy for my liking.

    Hakka cuisine

    The dishes here are all in small portion but luckily there are few dishes for our lunch. This is sweet and sour fish. Still okay. The fish is deep fried until crispy. I put high expectation to this dish, but too bad, it doesn't taste good. Even my mum cook better for this. It don't have very attractive smell. It is a bit oily. But the better thing is it doesn't taste super salty. Moderate for the saltiness.
    Overall, quite disappointed with this restaurant. Not value for the money we pay for. It just like our home style cooking.

    If you limit to order one only dish for dinner, this tofu is the dish that I will order. The tofu is a bit watery but then they are very sweet. There is some minced pork in it. It can act as a dish with lots of sauce. When you pour this onto your bowl, two to three scoop is enough for you to clear off the whole bowl of rice.

    Don't get fooled by the colour of the sauce of this chicken. This thai sauce chicken taste sweet and sour. The chicken skin is very crispy and the meat is real tender enough. If you leave the chicken soaked in the sauce long enough, the chicken skin will soften a bit but the crunchiness still remain there.

    One of the quite non oily food at here. This vegetable is cooked with anchovies and comes with soup. The vegetables are already soft. So don't expect any crunchy sound when you bite it. The soup has a strong anchovies taste. After the sweet rinse through your mouth then you can taste the saltiness. It is not that salty but just nice enough.
