Korean hot pepper paste or red chili paste ("gochujang") is one of the essential seasoning ingredients in Korean cooking. Gochujang is used in numerous korean dishes such as
1. Bibimbap,
2. Spicy Rice Cake ("dduk bok gi")
3. Spicy Chicken Bulgogi. It is also used to make stew and "ssamjang" (dipping sauce for lettuce wrap). Delicious in marinades or as part of a glaze.
For authentic Korean cooking, other hot sauces cannot replace the unique taste and texture of gochujang.
