Peach strudel is the perfect combination of crisp and flaky puff pastry paired with a spiced peach filling that will instantly satisfy your sweet cravings. This peach strudel recipe is great for when you have your friends and family over for a gathering or potluck, as it’s simple to make but will easily impress your guests.

Ingredients
- 900g of canned peaches, drained
- 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 1 tsp of nutmeg
- ½ tbsp of cinnamon
- 2 tbsp of lime juice
- 2 tbsp of unsalted butter
- 2 packets of puff pastry
- 1 egg

- 1 spatula
- 1 baking tray
- 1 bowl
- 1 fork
- 1 brush
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- In a pan over medium heat, add peaches and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the sugar, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, and lime juice and cook until the peaches caramelise.
- Add the butter and cook for 5 minutes. Mix with a spatula until well combined.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a greased baking tray, place one layer of puff pastry and pop it in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove it from the oven and place a layer of peach filling along with another layer of puff pastry. Bake for another 10 minutes.
- Repeat the two above steps until there are 4 layers of the puff pastry.
- In a bowl, crack the egg and beat it with a fork.
- Brush the egg wash on the last layer of the puff pastry and bake it for another 10 minutes until it is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and serve!
Braided peach strudel
You can also try recreating a different form of this peach strudel recipe. Instead of the four layers, there’s also the braided version! Just roll out your pastry sheet and spoon the filling in the centre, lengthwise down. Follow by cutting slits 1-inch apart on both sides and folding them over the filling, and voila!
