Boiling the Ondeh ondeh

In our Ondeh ondeh recipe, you will have to boil the Ondeh ondeh before coating them with grated coconut. However, it will be difficult to know whether the balls are fully cooked or not. Here are some tips you should follow when boiling the Ondeh ondeh:

  • Boil the Ondeh ondeh on low to medium heat. This ensures that both the dough and the sugar are fully cooked.
  • Stir the Ondeh ondeh to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • As a test, drop one or two Ondeh ondeh into the boiling water to learn how long the sugar takes to melt.
