Chana Dhal Alternative and Storage

Chana dhal is split chickpea lentils. You can easily buy these in packets in your local supermarkets or online. However, if you have a challenge finding them, you can replace them with split pigeon peas, also known as toor dal, yellow split peas, or whole chickpeas. You can store your leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. In addition, feel free to keep it longer in the freezer. Remember to freeze it after it’s thoroughly cooled, and be careful not to fill it to the brim as the dhal will expand as it freezes.
